Im Turning Green was produced and is managed by a group of eco-minded business owners located in Raleigh, NC who wanted to share the 'green' things that people and businesses are doing in the Triangle area of North Carolina. Whether you are simply going green at home or your whole business is a sustainable venture we'd like for you to share with us! Currently we are self-funded but expect to move into ad-based revenue which focuses solely on environmentally based business. Registration is free and will continue to remain that way. 

Southern Energy Management (SEM) is the largest sustainable energy services company in North Carolina. We provide energy efficiency and high-performance building consulting/verification, as well as renewable energy solutions to the residential, commercial and industrial markets. Our customers range from homeowners to niche green builders and from production builders to large multi-national companies.

From our offices in Raleigh and Charlotte, we service North Carolina in addition to parts of South Carolina and Virginia. For our consulting services, we work regionally and nationally as required. We will open our Triad region office later this year.

To make certain that all our products meet the highest standards, as well as our dedication to ensuring The Greater Good, our products are carefully crafted from time-tested, proven recipes using ingredients that are the best nature has to offer: beeswax, botanical and essential oils, herbs, flowers and minerals. These safe, effective ingredients have withstood the test of time. And because of that, we never use any ingredient that isn't proven safe and effective such as petroleum-synthesized fillers like mineral oil and propylene glycol. We don't use artificial preservatives such as methyl paraben or diazolidinyl urea.

In addition, we're committed to the highest levels of environmental sensitivity in the choice of our packaging, using materials that are recycled and recyclable. We don't want to create any additional garbage on the planet, and work hard to reduce, reuse and recycle. For example, before we would launch our world famous lip balm in a plastic tube, it took us years to convince a plastic company to make recycled plastic for us. Now, that very same company is one of the leading manufacturers of recycled plastic. Our hard work has been rewarded, not only by a cleaner planet, but also by the Triangle Business Journal, which gave us their Eco Hero award to commend our recycling program.

Many of the more commonly grown produce items for Green Planet Catering are grown at Green Planet
Farms. GPFarms provides the availability to control the environment
when it comes to field crops, greenhousing, as well as aquaponics
(symbiotic fish/plant farming).The farm site also houses the biodiesel processing facility which is used to fuel the Green Planet Catering delivery trucks.

We opened Twig in December of 2007 because we saw the need for a place in the Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Durham community that focused entirely on offering sustainable, organic and fairly traded goods. We offer a mix of functional yet modern goods made of quality, non-toxic and sustainable materials.

We have organic cotton infant and toddler clothes, safe teething toys, bottles and other useful baby gear. You'll also find an awesome selection of safe natural wood toys. We carry women's organic clothes in cotton and bamboo, locally made purses and colorful fairly traded bags from Guatemala. Twig also offers smart products to help us live a healthy life, as well as products that help us conserve, re-use and recycle. Our Purpose in Life is to concoct wondrously luscious works of coffee and make the world better at the same time. We slow roast in ridiculously small batches to bring out every rich layer of indigenous flavor. 100% of our coffee is Fair Trade, Shade Grown and Organic or Transitional Organic. (Our Organic and Fair Trade practices are certified and audited by Quality Certification Services.) We honor the work of our farming partners by transforming their extraordinary beans into marvelous coffees.
